Burien Brat Trot 5k and Oktoberfest to raise funds for Highline students

The Burien Brat Trot and Oktoberfest will return on Saturday, October 7, to downtown Burien. The Brat Trot, hosted by the Highline Schools Foundation and Highline Public Schools, is a 5k and 1k race to raise funds for the basic needs of students in the district.

The new route for the Brat Trot will follow 152nd Street.

The 5k race begins at 10 a.m. at Town Square Park at 480 SW 152nd St. The new and improved route will follow 152nd westbound, turn right on 18th Avenue SW through the neighborhood, ending at the starting line in Town Square Park.The 1k portion for kids, starting at 11 a.m. in Town Square Park, follows the same route along 152nd and back to the starting line.

All participants in the adult 5k Trot will receive a voucher for one free taster in the Burien Oktoberfest beer garden, which begins at 10 a.m. More than 10 Breweries will be present at the festival.

Registration for all racers is now open, and prices for the event are listed on the Highline Schools Foundation’s Brat Trot page. All proceeds from the race will be used to support students in Highline Public Schools at every grade level.
