Highline Schools Foundation fundraises to provide school supplies to students in need

The Highline Schools Foundation announced on July 26, 2023, that they are now accepting donations to purchase school supplies for students in need.

Highline Schools Foundation will purchase and distribute basic school supplies, such as backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and crayons, for thousands of kids and families, according to an official Highline Schools Foundation press release.

“Thanks to the generosity of Exchange Club of Highline, Boeing, and CLEAR, we have a great start on our school supply budget this year, but the need has never been greater, and the cost of supplies continues to go up,” said Fred Swanson, Executive Director of Highline Schools Foundation.

Thirty schools will receive school supplies this year, an increase from 26 schools last year. Supplies will be distributed to each school during the first week of August to be available for students as they begin classes.

“Providing school supplies is just one way Highline Schools Foundation supports our students, teachers, and communities, but it’s a fundamental truth that kids can’t get their work done without the tools needed,” according to the press release. “Thank you for digging deep for our friends and neighbors- every student deserves the opportunity to be successful.”
