Meet the Highline School Board Candidates: Free Public Forum on July 12th!
Education is critical in the Highline community. It shapes our future leaders and our children’s lives.
All Highline residents vote for All Highline School District races; as taxpayers, the schools affect us all. A School Board Director’s primary responsibilities include setting policies, budgets, and curriculum approval.
Before you vote in the August 1st Primary, come and listen to the candidates:

Event organizers contacted all candidates using email, phone, and Facebook. Five out of seven School Board Candidates have confirmed they will participate in the Forum.

Note: Director Azeb Hagos, District No 5, was appointed in 2022 and runs unopposed, so she will not be on the August 1st Primary Ballot.
The Forum evening will include time for each of the candidates to:
- State their positions and reasons for running for office
- Answer prepared questions
- Answer new questions from the audience
- Give closing remarks
Respectful community participation is welcome.
This is an opportunity for the Highline community to come together to meet future School Board Directors.
