In case you have not visited the OSPI website lately to check on Highline Schools, here are the most recently published statistics:
Highline has a low 58% attendance rate, but a high 84% graduation rate. How can so many students graduate without regularly attending school?
Only 1 out of 3 Highline students meet grade level standards in English Language Arts. Won’t they present as “uneducated” in the eyes of potential employers?
Less than 1 in 4 Highline students meet standards in Mathematics. Doesn’t this make them ineligible for a whole host of technical jobs?
In Highline, we have an education system that leaves 66% of students academically behind. How is failure preparing them for the future they choose?
