“Gus Schafer was lights out today and stepped up big time,” said Pirate Head Coach Jonny Locher. “A strong defense, with no errors on the day, supported him. Ronan Rasmussen made a couple of nice plays at 2nd base, and Cam Keller caught a stellar game as usual,” added Locher.

Hang began the game pitching for Evergreen and lasted three innings. In total, he faced 16 batters with 2 strikeouts.

This is the second time the Pirates bested the Wolverines by a score of 4-0 this season.

Roman Easter led the batting with two hits and two RBIs. The Pirates picked up six hits on the afternoon, scattered between five players.

“We also had some new players step in and make an impact on the game. This was Juan Ramirez’s first game; he started our big inning off with a 2-strike single and scored on a double by Roman Easter. Juan also had a couple of nice catches in right field”, said Locher.

The Pirates play Foster Monday, April 24, at Foster High School.
