Boulevard Park Place: A Family of Friends for Active Seniors

by Carrie Pearce

The beautiful community we know today as Boulevard Park Place is here because of the dreams and ambitions of Merle & Viola Steinman. Having a construction business in the Puget Sound region with his father since the 1950s, and Merle and Vi’s parents deciding they no longer wanted the burden of home ownership, they began searching for an alternative place for them to live. Merle was a man with high ideals and great vision. After a long and exhaustive search, Merle could not find what he had envisioned for their parents, so he set out to build what is now Boulevard Park Place.

His vision included high-quality, well-appointed living spaces, large common areas, multiple activity and craft rooms, a beauty shop, and an indoor pool and spa. The dream included all this surrounded by a large, 10-acre campus with views of the Cascade Mountains, breathtaking sunrises, walking paths leading to fishponds, waterfalls, multiple garden areas, and comfortable rest areas. Now Merle and Vi’s son, Ron Steinman, who worked side-by-side with his father throughout the construction process, is general manager and continues the family’s commitment to making Boulevard Park Place a vibrant, friendly community where Seniors can enjoy independent living.

Boulevard Park Place is all about community. With many on-site amenities, residents enjoy gardening, woodworking, fitness classes, walk-a-thons for local charities, a book club, a sewing and craft club, field trips, special events, and many on-site activities. Boulevard Park Place is truly a hidden gem – one of Burien’s best-kept secrets for abundant, vibrant, active senior living!

If you, or someone dear to you, would like to be part of a caring community that knows how to have fun “silver style,” why not give them a call? Tours are available seven days a week. With great rental rates and easy residency requirements, Boulevard Park’s friendly staff would love to welcome you to the family!
