City of Burien: Hospitality Grant Applications Now Available

Business Grant Opportunities

WA Hospitality Grants
This grant program from the Washington Department of Commerce will provide cash grants to eligible restaurants, bars, and other qualifying businesses negatively impacted by COVID-19 Pandemic.

For eligibility criteria and more information go to this page. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Burien Storefront Repair Grant
Has your storefront experienced glass damage due to vandalism or crime? There are still grant funds available.

There is no deadline to apply. Applications will be reviewed until all funding has been spent. For more details and to apply, visit this link.

Small Business Innovation Fund Grant (SBIF)
This program from the Washington Department of Commerce will provide grants for small, minority, women, veterans, and economically disadvantaged business owners. Any startup or business in Washington state that meets the eligibility criteria is encouraged to apply. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on March 31, 2023.

Marketing Your Business Online Workshop
Come to this FREE workshop, brought to you by the City of Burien Economic Development Office. Shari Papczun of Inneractivate, a digital marketing agency based in Burien, will facilitate the workshop.

You will learn how to:
• Establish a Social Media Marketing Strategic Plan
• Grow and Manage Your Online Brand
• Use Social Media and Shop Local Burien Tools
• Create Content that Fits Your Business and Builds Awareness

This is an in-person event and it will take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. which includes a half-hour networking and dinner break. Space is limited, secure your seat by registering at this link.

South King County Hiring Event
If you have multiple job openings you need to fill, register to table at the South King County Job Fair on April 13, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. which will be hosted at the Burien Community Center, to access a wider pool of talent. This event is a partnership between the Workforce Development Council, WorkSource Seattle/King County, and the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce.

Space is limited – Register today. The final date for companies to register is March 23. A Work Force Development Council representative will work with you on any next steps.

The Business and Economic Development Partnership (BEDP)’s role is to advise and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the economic development within Burien.
