One Tagger Has Been Arrested by Burien Police

The Gem has learned that the Burien Police Department has arrested one of the three taggers creating problems throughout Burien and neighboring cities. The person arrested is an acquaintance of one of the two remaining taggers still at-large and has shared personal information with BPD that will lead to a second arrest very soon.

Tagging is a method of staking out turf by rival gangs. Tagging and graffiti have been a growing problem in Burien. Both activities have defaced private and public property. Gang tags escalate rival tension and potential violence.

We are grateful that the Burien Police are actively seeking the perpetrators! We hope it will lead to restoration for those carrying out the tagging and the community.
