From Transform Burien:
As 2023 picks up steam, it’s a good time to check in with yourself. What intentions have you set this year? Perhaps you want to make new friends. Engage in your local community. Serve a cause. Try something new.
Are you taking action?
Volunteering at Transform, a Burien nonprofit resource center, could help you start your year in a meaningful way. Transform provides hot meals, groceries, clothing, and other essentials to our neighbors in need. Many hands are needed to accomplish this critical work. Perhaps your hands are ready to serve?
According to existing volunteers at the center, the work is rewarding. Volunteer Jesse says, “Watching the efforts of each volunteer add up into something larger, something that helps change the lives of those in need, is incredible.”
Kathy notes, “The staff and people who come in keep me coming back. They are lovely and enjoyable people, and every day something interesting happens.”
Ron says, “I know I’m doing a good thing, helping people. After a while, they are not just people; they are friends.”
Transform’s Director Greg Henken invites, “Come and join us for a couple of hours and see how it fits. Be part of something that makes people’s lives better. There are many different ways to serve. We are a family here, and you are welcome.”
Transform’s outreach center exists to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and action. The center hosts services that help each guest meet their basic needs. No experience is necessary. Everyone of every faith is welcome. Call 206-839-6620 or drop in: 15623 Des Moines Memorial Drive Burien, WA 98166 (the old Sunnydale School).
