Tautua gets he second pin of the night. This time over his Interlake opponent.
Gabriel Luna-Tautua, wrestling in the 285 weight class, won two matches on Thursday evening. Within one hour, Tautua grappled with wrestlers from the Interlake and Tyee High Schools. Tautua won both challenges with pins in the first period. Tautua is in his first year on the mats. He has a record of 14-5. All victories are pins.
All eyes are building up the district tournament in a couple of weeks and then the state tournament.

Tautua tributes his success to his coaches. “My wrestling coach believes in me. I think she believes I can get to the state tournament. And Coach Coop (Highline Pirate Head Football coach) taught me that how you do anything is how you do everything. It has taught me how to win,” continued Tautua.

Interlake and Tyee wrestling teams are small in number. Only a few Pirates were able to compete in the meet.
