Burien Storefront Repair Grant
Has your small business experienced property damage to your storefront window or storefront door glass? Apply to receive a $1,000 grant to help cover repair costs.

There is no deadline to apply. Applications will be reviewed until all funding has been spent.

Burien Legacy Businesses
Burien reaches an important milestone on February 28, 2023. We will be celebrating our 30th anniversary as a city! Because we know how important it is each year your business reaches a milestone, we want to do a special shout-out in an online article for the Burien Magazine of our legacy businesses that have been around since Burien became a city and before.

Burien Survey
Your insight and experience operating a business in Burien is very important to us. If you have not completed your 2022 City of Burien business survey online or mailed one in, you can complete the five-minute survey in English, Spanish, and additional languages.

Thank you to those of you who have submitted your survey!

The results of the business surveys will be shared here, at a Business and Economic Development Partnership (BEDP) meeting, and at a future City Council meeting.

Your Shop Local Burien Business Profile
We will be working with a photographer to capture professional images to spruce up your business profile in late January and during the month of February. There is no cost to you. This offer is available to home-based or online businesses, as well as storefront businesses. Please send your interest in an email to economicdevelopment@burienwa.gov.

And if you haven’t already, be sure to submit your FREE business profile to the Shop Local Burien website, which is Burien’s Digital Main Street connecting you with customers online.

Apply to the BEDP
Do you care deeply about Burien residents, businesses, and economic opportunities for our community? Do you want to help make recommendations to City Council on policies?

Then consider applying to the BEDP! There are six open positions.

What is the BEDP?
The Business and Economic Development Partnership (BEDP) is a board comprised of business owners and residents. The BEDP’s role is to advise and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the direction of economic development for Burien.

What is the Time Commitment?
The BEDP meets at 7:30 – 9 a.m., second and fourth Fridays (no meetings in August, only one meeting in early November and December). It is a four-year term.

How do I apply?
The applications close at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023. Apply at this link. Find more information at this link.

Applicants will be interviewed by Council in February 2023. City Council is scheduled to appoint commission members at their Monday, March 27, 2023 Business Meeting.

The Business and Economic Development Partnership (BEDP)’s role is to advise and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the economic development within Burien.

You can join virtually on Zoom, or come to City Hall (400 SW 152nd Street, third floor in Miller Creek Room) for the meeting.
