Highline boys basketball hosted their Pirate Holiday Basketball Tournament and played a hard-fought game in a 53 to 44 loss to Eisenhower High School from Yakima.

The visiting Cadets from Eisenhower HS jumped out to a quick 7- 0 lead before Highline scored their first basket. Highline competed well, with Eisenhower leading 19 to 18 midway through the 2nd QTR.

Eisenhower then went on a 10 to 4 run to lead at halftime 29 to 23.

During the second half of the game, Eisenhower continued to increase the lead and maintain a good lead throughout the 2nd half to close out the victory.

The Pirate boys were led in scoring by D-1 football recruit Marquawn McCraney who had a great game with 22 points and many rebounds & good defense.

Marquawn took over the 3rd QTR and kept the Pirates in the game and had help from low post player Charles Brown to help control the inside close to the hoop.

As the Pirates continue to improve and compete, we are seeing a team that is well-coached, plays good defense and striving for better shot selection.

Highline Boys basketball will have a long break after this holiday tournament and the next game will be Tuesday Jan 3rd 7:15pm at Evergreen HS
